December has been an incredibly busy month at St Mary’s with children and teachers doing Christmas art, practising and performing poems, plays and Christmas carols. ‘Journeys’ the book is about the journey our ‘Per Cent for Art’ stone made from the quarry, where a 7 tonne block of Kilkenny limestone was removed from the quarry bed, and was taken to McKeon Stoneyard in Stradbally, Co. Laois, where it was worked on by the sculptor, Michelle Byrne for 6 months. The stone, which represents our pupils’ journeys to school, continued
