Last Friday, October 16th, our school yard was a sea of black n’ amber. There was a great buzz around the school as all the children at St. Mary’s gathered excitedly to welcome the Liam McCarthy cup, which was proudly brought by Michael Fennelly, Kieran Joyce and our own local hero Jojo Farrell.
The three champs showed great patience signing autographs and posing for numerous photos! Many of the children had their jerseys signed and were really excited to get the opportunity to raise the much-coveted McCarthy Cup!
The jersey day was a complete success with all proceeds donated to the Kate Lynch Fund in Tanzania for the education of children. Well done to Laoise Fennelly Hunt, Michael’s niece and past pupil, for organising this.
A special thanks to the Jonjo, Micheal and Kieran for taking the time to visit us all at St Mary’s and needless to say we congratulate them all on their continued success.
The photographs below are proof of how delighted the children were to meet the players and hold the Liam McCarthy Cup!!
