SINGOUT 2024

Thank you to all who participated in this years SINGOUT concert! Surprise Visit from Santa!!! Dec, 2024

Today, we had a magical surprise visit from Santa! The children were absolutely thrilled as Santa and Rudolph rode in on their sleigh through the school gates, spreading holiday cheer. Christmas Carol Service 2024

Today, the hall was filled with festive cheer as we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Carol Service. The service featured beautiful songs learned in Music Generation, with each class showcasing their talent by performing a piece on the recorder. Well done to Liv Caffery, Ava O’Callaghan, Gracie Cassin, and Cynthia Murphy, who read the liturgy beautifully today. Happy Howl-a-ween from all at St Mary’s!

Halloween at our school was a fantastic celebration! The hallways and classrooms were filled with spooky decorations and creative costumes—ghosts, witches, skeletons, dead brides, vampires, mummies, and even a few friendly monsters. Athletics News, September 2024

The 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes competed in the Primary School Sports held in a cold but sunny Grennan today. All the children competed extremely well and represented our school superbly with many winning individual medals and all our teams medaling in the team events. Well done to all. Cake Sale Success, June 2024

 Thank you for supporting the Cake Sale once again this year. There were very generous donations of cakes, treats as well as bric a brac.  Just over €3,300 was raised, which is a record amount.  This will go towards STEM resources and all children will get to use them next year.   We have listed our sponsors below and thank them sincerely for making the prizes for the raffle so

2nd Class School Trip to Adventure World, The Watershed, June 2024

The children had a wonderful school trip to Adventure World at the Watershed today, June 24th. This multi-activity sports camp incorporated fun, energetic, educational, and challenging activities for the children. They particularly enjoyed the giant water slide, swimming in the pool, the wrecking ball, and the giant inflatable obstacle course. Congrats to Thomastown United U10, May 2024

Congratulations to Thomastown United U10 who came second in the Kilkenny United Tournament. Well done to Síofra Croke O’ Neill, Aleisha Farrell, Sarah Collins, Chloe Brennan, Aoife Hosey, Caoimhe Lanigan, Indie Farrell and captain Aideen Roche all the way from Inistioge. A big thanks also to our coach, Stephen Croke O’ Neill. We had a super day!


Thomastown United Beat Shelbourne United, May 2024

Last Saturday fortnight, we won the FAI tournament in Coolwagon. We beat a Dublin team, Shelbourne United, on penalties. Well done to Shay Hanrahan who scored the winning penalty. Mícheál Walsh and Liam Tierney also scored a penalty each. The final score was 3 – 2.


Thomastown United Success! May 2024

The only goal scored in the match happened in the first half. It was Thomastown’s corner and Ruby Collins was taking it. We all lined up and she took a brilliant corner and the ball went right in front of the goal. A highview player from the other team tried to knock it but it went the wrong way and we got our goal!

Thomastown Firemen Visit our School, April 2024

Thank you to Damien and Declan from Thomastown Fire Brigade for delivering a great fire safety talk to our 3rd classes. It was very informative and the children enjoyed it immensely.  Damien’s son Kyle is in Ms. Lyons’ 3rd class and he really loved putting his Dad on the spot!

Lunchtime League’s Final, 2024

Lunchtime league football final was held on Tuesday in glorious sunshine. Donegal took on Kerry with superb performances from all players on both sides.
